About me

My name is Dragos Ionescu, I live in Bucharest, Romania and for the moment I work as a web developer (PHP, MySql, Javascript – jQuery and AJAX) and sometimes as a graphic and web designer and web integrator. I also have a great experience with on-site SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

I was born in Ploiesti, a medium sized city, 60km away from Bucharest. I was a professional swimmer for about 13 years – with high performance results at national and European level from the age of 11 till 17. Although I don’t practice professional swimming anymore since the age of 18, I love this sport and I go swimming every chance I get.

Before college I used to be very passionate about maths, physics, algorithms and anything related to exact sciences so, even though I graduated from “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in 2000, two years later I “deviated” from architecture towards graphic and then web design and short time after I’ve got to doing what I like the most: programming – only web, for the moment.

Currently I am a “senior web developer” – meaning I have accumulated few good years of experience and I have developed few hard projects, some of the most important of them being the Romanian Government website – http://www.gov.ro – which I finalized and launched in 2008, while I was working for Kondiment GMBH, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, outsourced for Kondiment GMBH, ValueChecker and their Affiliates website for Invendium Limited.

I love good, beautiful (inside and outside) and friendly  people, I love spending time with my friends, I love the same watching a good comedy or a smart, dynamic action movie, going to the gym, swimming or reading a good book, listening to music – almost any kind, as long as its rhythm or lyrics match with my state of mind, I like playing table tennis, see new places, meet new people and… many more.
And very important: I love the sun and the water.

I hate evil people, bad manners, lack of humanity and kindness, unjustified aggressivity, bad taste, all types of drama – meaning any type of things that end badly, sad etc., things that leave bad taste in your mouth and pain in your soul – I hate cold and grey weather – both outside and in my soul.
